Finnish tourist admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital

A Finnish tourist was shifted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital from Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital in the city on Sunday morning following his hospitalisation with multiple complications on Saturday afternoon.

SOMCH doctors said Markov Michael, a man in his forties from Finland, did not show symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, but probably had some mental illness.

He is under investigation, said doctors.

Anisur Rahman, the assistant director of Sylhet divisional office of Health Department, said Markov was taken to hospital after he had been found unconscious in front of a building on Tula Road.

‘He was shifted to SOMCH as he did not develop symptoms of coronavirus,’ Anisur added.

Sylhet Metropolitan police additional deputy commissioner Zedan Al Musa told New Age that Markov was going to see a physician on Saturday afternoon after he felt sick, but he got senseless on his way to the physician.

He said that Markov arrived in Sylhet two months ago and he has been staying in a hotel at Hawapara area in the city for one and a half month. (Source: New Age)
