President Abdul Hamid off to Uruguay to attend Presidential Command Transfer Ceremony

President M Abdul Hamid left Dhaka on early today (February 26, 2020) on an 11-day visit to attend the Uruguay’s Presidential Command Transfer Ceremony at Montevideo and another private programme in London.

“A VVIP flight of Emirates Airlines Flight EK 585, carrying the president and his entourage members took off from Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport at 1:35 am today,” a Bangabhaban spokesman told BSS.

President’s spouse Rashida Khanam and secretaries concerned to the Bangabhaban are accompanying Abdul Hamid in the tour.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Md. Mahbub Ali, Brazilian envoy in Dhaka, cabinet secretary,
chiefs of the three services, principal secretary to the prime minister, home secretary, inspector general of police (IGP), foreign secretary, and high civil and military officials were present at the airport to see the president off.

Bangladesh President is scheduled to attend Uruguay’s Presidential Command Transfer Ceremony which will be held on March 1.

During the visit, he will also have some other programme in London.

President Hamid is expected to return home on March 9, the spokesman added. (Source: BSS)
