Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy distributes essentials

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy distributed essential supplies among marginalised people in the capital on Saturday and Sunday.

The academy handed over bags containing food items – rice, oil, onions, potatoes and others – to 100 helpless people at Farmgate, Moghbazar, Malibag and Kakrail.

‘According to the directives of the director general of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, the officers of the academy distributed food items and supplies among the needy,’ Hasan Mahmud, BSA public relations officer told New Age.

‘The director general of the academy has taken this initiative to help the low-income people who are suffering during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We must do whatever we can to support the vulnerable people. Those who are affluent in the society should come forward and lend a helping hand in this critical time. If the situation becomes worse, the employees of BSA will raise a fund to support the helpless in the society,’ added Hasan Mahmud. (Source: New Age)
